A Day at New Horizons: What to Expect on Your First Visit
First visits are always a little uncertain, no matter how good the reviews are. So here's the plain version of what actually happens, start to finish, whether you're coming to our Ikeja branch or the branch near Unilag.
Before you arrive, you've already picked a plan and a time slot on the booking form — a Cubicle or a Pod, a Half Day or a Daily session, paid online or by bank transfer. You'll have a booking reference either in your account dashboard or in your confirmation email. That's the only thing you actually need to bring, though a valid student ID is worth carrying too if you're booking at the student rate — verification happens once, the first time, and every future booking uses it automatically after that.
At the door, front desk will look up your booking by reference, name, or phone number — whichever is fastest for you. If you booked online but paid by bank transfer, this is also the moment they'll confirm your transfer has cleared; if it hasn't yet and you have proof of payment, front desk can still get you seated while it finalizes. You don't need to print anything. A walk-in with no prior booking is also completely fine if a desk is free — front desk can set that up for you on the spot, cash or card.
Once you're checked in, you'll be shown to your actual space — a Cubicle, a Solo Pod, or a Duo Pod, depending on what you booked — and that's genuinely it. Wi-Fi details are posted at the desk and at front desk if you need them again. Power backup means a grid outage mid-session isn't your problem to solve. If anything about the space isn't working the way it should — a plug that's loose, a light that's out — flagging it to front desk gets it looked at properly, not just noted and forgotten.
Toward the end of your session, you don't need to do anything special to leave — no formal checkout process holds you up. If your session is close to running out and you want to keep going, front desk can extend you on the spot if the space is free afterward, charged for the extra time only. If you'd rather come back another day instead of extending now, that's fine too.
The honest goal of a first visit is that it feels boring in the best sense — not a special occasion, just a place that works, the way a good hotel front desk should feel unremarkable. If something about your first visit didn't feel that way, we'd genuinely like to hear about it — that feedback is what the front desk message feature in your dashboard is for.
